PCMA released results from a public opinion research conducted by McLaughlin & Associates showing that American voters in battleground states overwhelmingly oppose policies that interfere with the private market and believe drug companies should be held accountable for high drug prices. The survey found that 94% of battleground state voters are concerned with the high prices of prescription drugs with 57% blaming drug companies for the costs, 15% blaming the government, and only 10% blaming PBMs.

Further, 88% of respondents believe that Congress should hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for patent abuses and direct-to-consumer advertising instead of policies that interfere with the private market. Additionally, 82% are concerned that targeting rebate pass-through in the private market will take away a critical choice for employers.
